Pectin is the gritty substance in pears and apples, that is also a type of soluble- fiber which may improve digestion.

Apples contain beta carotene, which can be converted to Vitamin A in our bodies.

Apple peels, especially the red varieties, contain natural antioxidants.

“Quercetin” and “ellagic acid” are chemicals found in raw apples that help to combat free radicals which cause oxidation, and can be harmful to our health.

Apples lose much of their nutritional value when cooked.
* Attention:
Apple seeds contain the toxic prussic acid and should not be eaten.
