Almonds are also high in Vitamin E, which is a potent antioxidant which may prevent the accumulation of plaque that can clog the arteries.


Almonds may make a good source of nutrients for those who are underweight.


Almond oil is used as a cosmetic to smoothen skin and also in aromatherapy as a carrier for essentials oils from plants.

Warning:

Bitter almonds can be toxic.
    The bitter almond in its raw state contains traces of a lethal compound which releases cyanide, also known as “prussic acid”.

Although the toxicity is destroyed by heat, the sale of unrefined bitter almonds is prohibited in the United States.
